SISON, Pangasinan – The Mines and Geosciences Bureau conducted a special meeting of the Mine Rehabilitation Fund Committee-Pangasinan Group IV for the Evaluation and Deliberation of the 5-year Environmental Protection and Enhancement Program with Integrated Final Mine Rehabilitation and/or Decommissioning Plan of Golden Aggregates and Crashing Plant at Leeza’s Restaurant, MacArthur Highway last August 5, 2021. The said meeting was presided by MRFC Chairman MGB-1 Regional Director Socrates G. Gaerlan. It was duly attended by Co-Chairman and DENR-1 Regional Executive Director Atty. Crizaldy M. Barcelo represented by Atty. Juneza Nuñez and members including EMB-1 Regional Director Engr. Maria Dorica Naz-Hipe, OIC, ENRO NRRG Mr. Nathaniel Pulido represented by Mr. Mixon Flores, Sison Municipal Mayor Hon. Danilo Uy represented by Mr. Larry Leo Benosa, Pangasinan Tribal Federation Mr. Inocencio Caganilla represented by Mr. Leo Caganilla, Golden Aggregates and Crashing Plant represented by Mr. Rolando Bariuan.
 
 
MRFC Technical Secretariat Head Engr. John Ymson presented on the Chronology of Submission on the 5-year EPEP of Golden Aggregates and Crashing Plant.
 
Mr. Bariuan of Golden Aggregates presented their EPEP and FMR/DP that was endorsed by the Mine Management Division to the Mine Safety, Environment and Social Development Division on January 27, 2021. Engr. Ymson suggested to the committee that the members of the MRFC may give their comments on the said presentation of plans. Science Research Specialist II Engr. Angelica De Vera presented the initial evaluation made by MGB-1 on the said program.
 
 
Engr. Ymson informed the Body that there is a need to revise entirely the EPEP with Integrated FMR/DP considering the additional comments of the Committee. As such, the Committee is not in the position to endorse the approval of the Five (5) Year EPEP with Integrated FMR/DP. He suggested to the Body to defer momentarily the endorsement pending the company’s compliance to the comments of the Committee and the findings during the preliminary evaluation conducted by MGB-1.
