SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – The Integrated Mining Information Education in Region 1 (I-MINE) conducted their first general assembly last January 14, 2021 at the Max’s Restaurant. Proposed Information and Education Campaign (IEC) activities for 2022 were presented and discussed to the members. These include the I-MINE Gazette, Rice Assistance, Jingle Contest via Tiktok, heighten social media presence, refresher training for coordinators and officers, showcase best mining practices and Social Development and Management Program.

New set of officers were also inducted and took their oath in the presence of MGB 1 MGB 1 advisers. The ceremony was officiated by MGB 1 Regional Director Socrates G. Gaerlan.

Newly inducted I-MINE Officers are as follows:

Auditor: Johnny Dolo

Coordinators: Rey Ojascastro (La Union)

In his message, RD Gaerlan shared that the I-MINE is truly a strong ally in promoting MGB’s collective actions towards Mine Responsibility. Through the years, the I-MINE has committed their unequivocal support to make sure that the message of ensuring the protection of our country's mineral resources and promoting sustainable mineral resource development is clear and sent across to partners and stakeholders very well. Just like the I-MINE, MGB is committed and determined to better serve the public and provide high-quality services in a cost efficient manner. As such, he stated that MGB-1 is conducting collaborative efforts with various environmental partners to ensure a more effective implementation of the bureau’s programs to keep the environment safe and healthy.
